[shah-day], [licensed marriage and family therapist]

why do I do what I do?

I am wild about intimacy.

More specifically, I am wild about the way that intimacy has the power to transform, heal, ignite - if only we knew how to access it.

In my work as a therapist, I've gotten to see the transformation from distance to closeness. From confusion to understanding.
Couples who started the therapy process yelling at each other, barely able to finish a sentence without interrupting or rolling their eyes. But over time, they are listening deeply, smiling sweetly, patient with each other as they talk honestly about the hard moments. They reach a space where both spouses feel seen, known and loved,
I believe that people should feel seen, known and loved,
and that romantic relationships should be a safe space to experience this.

This is my why. I believe it as truth.

what's my therapeutic style?
I believe in challenge mixed with fun. Some sessions will stretch you, invite you to break old patterns of belief and action. Some sessions will be fun, focusing mainly on encouragement and affirmations for your progress.
If you are into therapeutic lingo, my modality is most closely a blend of
narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and internal family systems.
